Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse Resident to join our growing Mother Baby Unit team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details: Full time, 0.9 FTE, Variable Shift.

Are you an acute care RN who has been waiting for the chance to work in Labor & Delivery? Or, are you a recent new RN graduate who has completed a focuced practicum in a maternal child setting? If so, this may be the perfect opportunity for you! We are offering a 14-16 week training course through our Clinical Academy--our course offering includes a dedicated Clinical Educator, simulation labs, didactic learning and preceptor training!

About our Birth Center:

Features 33 rooms and its own, dedicated, cesarean section OR suite. It is home to a dedicated 24/7 OB anesthesia service with a highly skilled MD/CRNA anesthesia team. Services include inpatient and outpatient lactation consults by certified lactation specialists, and a postpartum clinic appointment. Our level III NICU is also nearby for those babies who can’t wait to be welcomed into the world and need specialized care from our highly skilled neonatal intensive care team.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Nursing degree/diploma upon hire.

  • All Registered Nurses without a Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) degree or higher must obtain a BSN within 3 years from date of hire required.

  • BLS required. NRP within 90 days required.

  • At least one year of acute care nursing experience and/or a recent new RN graduate required.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors of Nursing degree (BSN).

  • Certification in related specialty area.

  • If new RN graduate, pracitcum experience must be in Maternal Child

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Registered Nurse you provide professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. You are also accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient’s care to achieve patient goals and to optimize outcomes.

  • Effectively advocate for ethical and holistic care to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values and beliefs of those we serve.

  • Foster a learning environment for patient/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team including students.

  • Align practice with safety and quality. Be accountable for safety, identify and correct problems.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development; promote a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates and disseminates research and evidence based practice.

  • Lead and coordinate teams, delegate, coordinate care and collaborate with others as equal members of the inter-professional care team to integrate nursing knowledge.
