Kadlec Regional Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a RN Outpatient Procedures Kadlec Clinic to join our growing Kadlec Clinic Urology team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details: 0.0 FTE, Per Diem, Day shift.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program

  • Current WA State RN Licensure

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS

  • Kadlec Neurosciences Outpatient Procedures RN: ACLS within 3 months from date of hire into the position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent nursing experience.

  • Certification in related specialty area

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Under the general direction of the Practice Manager/Administrator and/or the Provider, performs a variety of duties involved in providing patient care in a clinical setting.

  • Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct.

  • Understands, embraces, and instills the Kadlec Clinic Guiding Principles.

  • Starts IVs and manage IVs during procedures.

  • Within scope of licensure and as per competency, administers medication as directed by the Provider.

  • Provides patient care during pre and post injection procedures.

  • Assists health care Providers with patient exams as needed.

  • Assists with a variety of outpatient procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as applicable and assigned (i.e. colposcopy, endoscopy, DEXA, ultrasound, etc.).

  • Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and administration of medications.

  • Documents all patient interactions in patient record accurately and legibly.

  • Consults and coordinates with health care Providers to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.

  • Prepares exam rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.

  • Performs a variety of routine clerical functions as necessary.

  • Performs within limitations or scope of WA State RN Licensure.

  • Neurosciences Specific Job Functions:

  • Administers conscious sedation (moderate sedation) per competency under direction of provider.

  • Accesses patients, before, during, and after administration of sedation and provide appropriate care.

  • Triages patients per specialty protocol (phone and face-to-face).

  • Assists and coordinates with other staff to ensure appropriate follow-up care for patients.

  • Communicates promptly and effectively with team members to insure safe and appropriate care.

  • Hematology/Oncology and Rheumatology Specific Job Functions:

  • Demonstrates clinical competence and knowledge of specialty diagnosis and treatment plans.

  • Administers biotherapy, antibiotics/antifungals, electrolyte replacement, and other infusion medications; monitors patients for side effects, adverse reaction and/or toxicity.

  • Participates in Clinical trials coordinated by the Research Department, administers research medications, and monitors side effects and laboratory results per research protocol.

  • Provides patient education by assessing educational needs, planning, implementing and evaluating teaching programs.

  • Provides telephone advice and triage to patients using a physician approved protocol.

  • Hematology/Oncology Specific Job Functions:

  • Assists with a variety of outpatient procedures such as bone marrow biopsies etc.

  • Administers chemotherapy; monitors patients for side effects, adverse reaction and/or toxicity.

  • Urology Specific Job Functions:

  • Performs urodynamic testing.

  • Performs catheter placements.
