Kadlec Clinic has an exciting opportunity for an Registered Nurse ASC OR to join our growing Tri City Regional Surgery Center team, located in Richland, Washington.
Shift Details: Part-Time, 0.5 FTE, Day Shift
Graduation from an accredited nursing program
1 year recent operating room experience –or-successful completion of a Peri-Operative Program
Moderation sedation experience
Current WA State RN Licensure
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
ACLS required within 6 months from date of hire into the position.
BSN from an accredited educational institution
Certification in related specialty area
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Under the direction of the ASC Director, has direct responsibility and accountability for the care of the patient during the intraoperative phase of surgery and endoscopic procedures; Utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care Peri-Operative phase; Coordinates total patient care in coordination with other health care team members; Functions as a patient advocate utilizing the Patient's Bill of Rights; Demonstrates professional growth and development by accepting responsibility and accountability for one's nursing practice; Serves as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients and their families to facilitate safe and effective flow of patient care in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of Kadlec Regional Medical Center; and assists in providing direction and supervision of nursing and support staff, as well as perform related duties as assigned.

Act as a resource to staff, physicians, and visitors.
Verify the operative procedure using the consent form, patient’s statement and if needed the surgeon’s verification prior to procedure.
Note the condition of the skin for rashes, bruises, lesions and previous incisions.
Determine mobility of the body utilizing the patient’s statement, range of motion, and the history & physical.
Report deviation of diagnostic studies such as lab or radiology reports.
Communicate and document degree of achievement to members of the health care team, in a verbal and written report.
Continuously evaluate the patient’s needs, plan of care, and nursing actions, adjusting the plan as required to provide optimum patient outcomes.
Identify presence of prosthesis such as dentures, pacemakers and joint prosthesis/implants.
Note nutritional status such as patient has been NPO.
Verify allergies to medication, food, or chemicals.
Communicate and document physiological data to other members of the health care team in verbal or written report, including data which may be relevant to discharge planning.
Elicit patient expectations of care and outcome of surgery.
Determine level of knowledge and ability to understand, such as language barrier and seeks assistance as necessary.
