Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution required.
Current WA State RN Licensure required.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited educational institution required.If Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist: Current Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) registered with NCA, ASCLS, AAB, NAACLS, ASCP, or HHS –or certification eligible- required. Must meet CLIA Regulations.
For RN or non-RN:
Three years acute care clinical experience required.
CIC required within three years from date of hire into the position.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
If RN: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from an accredited educational institution preferred.
Prefer Registered Nurse (RN)
Infection Prevention experience preferred.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As an Infection Control Coordinator you are responsible for surveillance activities and data collection and analysis of the Kadlec Regional Medical Center's Infection Prevention Program and works directly with the Infection Control Committee and appropriate hospital and medical leadership and caregivers to collaborate on program development and oversight.
Coordinates a hospital-wide Infection Prevention Program for surveillance, prevention and control of infections.
Performs a broad scope of surveillance activities, using definitions and indicators approved by the appropriate committee.
Collects surveillance data through chart review, staff interviews, and other appropriate means of data collection. Coordinates data collection with the nursing staff, laboratory personnel and the medical staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with pre-determined indicators and criteria.
Assures compliance with Federal, State and regulatory agencies laws, rules and regulations.
Works collaboratively with the Patient Safety Committee to promote patient safety.
Prepares documents and regularly reports to a variety of Medical Center and Board Committees.
Develops Power Point presentations and presents material in Board and other Medical Center Meetings.
